Institute Technology Management Unit (ITMU) is designated/established to act as Secretariat for the Institute Technology Management Committee (ITMC) of ICAR-NIFMD. ITMC is the highest body which takes important decisions for the intellectual property management at ICAR-NIFMD and is chaired by the Director, ICAR-NIFMD. Institute Technology Management Unit (ITMU) at ICAR-NIFMD is the unit act for IP related matters/progress/concerns viz., filing of patents, approval of the technology for commercialization, pricing of the technologies ready for commercialization etc.
1. Proper implementation of ICAR guidelines for IP management and technology transfer/ commercialization.
2. Increase awareness and enhancing literacy for IPR and capacity building.
3. Recognition of inventors/innovators who need to be suitably rewarded for their ingenuity.
4. Existing technology improvement for production of newer/cheaper/better products.
5. New technology evaluation and screening.
6. Overcome barriers to commercialization.
7. Progression towards effective technology transfer from lab - to – industry.
8. Foster entrepreneurship and empower small and medium enterprises with IP asset accumulation, management and use.
9. Need to strengthen the technological capacity to get the best benefit.
